Bright Draft: why we're building a social media tool just for advisors
What social media content does for an advisory practice, from credibility to SEO and AI search, and the tool we’re building to make it effortless.
Where things stand: Bright Draft is in development and hasn’t launched yet. Until it does, our team delivers the same service by hand: compliance-approved content, written and published to your channels for $300 a month. See fully managed social media →
Every advisor we talk to knows they should be posting. Most aren’t. Not because they disagree, but because writing, designing, checking and scheduling content across three channels every week is a job, and it’s not the one they trained for.
Generic schedulers give you an empty calendar and expect you to fill it. Content libraries give you posts written for everyone, which means for no one, and rarely for an advisor working within compliance rules. Bright Draft is our answer to that gap.
Why social media content matters more than it looks
It’s easy to think of social media as a nice-to-have: something that gets a few likes and not much else. For an advisory practice it does a lot more than that, and much of it happens where you can’t see it.
It builds credibility before the first meeting
Almost every prospect looks you up before they reach out, including the ones who were referred. What they find in that moment either confirms the recommendation or quietly undermines it. A LinkedIn profile last updated three years ago raises a question. A feed with helpful, recent posts answers it. Consistent, useful content tells people you’re active, you know your subject, and you take your practice seriously.
It supports your SEO
Social posts don’t directly raise your Google rankings, but they help in ways that add up. They send people to your website, which gives search engines signals that your pages are useful. They get your ideas and your name in front of people who may later link to you, mention you or search for you by name. And an active, consistent presence across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram helps Google understand that your practice is a real, established business. It works best alongside a proper SEO and AEO/GEO plan.
It helps AI tools recommend you
When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for a financial advisor in their city or their situation, those tools look for practices with a clear, consistent story across the web. Your social profiles are part of that story. When your posts, your website and your listings all say the same thing about who you help and what you know, AI tools can describe you with confidence. That’s a big part of AEO and GEO. Read more in how to get recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.
It keeps you in mind until people are ready
Most people aren’t ready to talk to an advisor the first time they come across one. They might be two years from retirement, or still thinking about selling their business. Regular content means that when the moment arrives, yours is the name they already know and trust. That’s often the difference between being called and being overlooked.
It makes your other marketing work harder
Someone who clicks a paid ad, gets a referral, or opens one of your emails will often check your social profiles next. A lively, useful feed reinforces what they just saw. An empty one undoes it. Social content doesn’t replace SEO, paid ads or email, but it makes each of them convert better.
It gives people something to share
A clear explanation of CPP timing or a short checklist before selling a business is something a client can forward to a friend or colleague. Every share puts your name in front of someone new, with a built-in recommendation from a person they already trust.
What Bright Draft will do
- It will publish, not just draft. Bright Draft will post to your LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook on schedule. There’s no queue waiting for you to approve.
- It will be written for your clients. During setup you’ll tell us who you serve, your priority topics and the topics you’d rather not discuss. The content follows.
- It will be compliance approved before it goes live. Every post goes through our compliance process. Nothing lands on your desk.
- It will look like one practice. Bold graphics, real photography and one clear idea per post, designed as a system so your feed is consistent.
How it will work
- Subscribe. $300 a month, no setup fee, no contract, cancel anytime.
- Answer a few questions. Who you serve, which topics you want to be known for (retirement income, insurance, intergenerational wealth transfer, getting money out of a business), which topics you’d rather stay away from, and your city.
- Connect your profiles. LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Bright Draft will post as you, on your accounts.
- Bright Draft publishes. Eight posts a month, each shared to all three channels, written for your audience and compliance approved before they go live.
Your dashboard will show what’s scheduled, what has been published, and billing. That’s deliberately all it will show. There’ll be nothing to manage.
What the content will look like
Educational, specific and visual. A post explaining what the lifetime capital gains exemption means for an owner a few years from a sale. A graphic comparing CPP at 60, 65 and 70. A reminder about the RRSP deadline written for families in your city. A short first-person perspective on a question you hear every week. Bold colour, real photography, one idea per post. Nothing that reads like an ad, and nothing that makes a performance claim. For a sense of what works, see social media for advisors: what to post, and how often.
Compliance, handled
This is the part most advisors ask about first. Every Bright Draft post will go through our compliance process before it publishes: educational framing, no performance claims, no guarantees, no product recommendations, no testimonials. A record of everything published will be kept in your dashboard so your dealer can review it at any time. You won’t approve posts one by one, because by the time they publish there’ll be nothing left to catch.
What Bright Draft isn’t
It won’t be a scheduler you have to feed. It won’t be a library of generic finance memes. And it isn’t a replacement for SEO or paid ads; on its own, it won’t fill your calendar. It’s the layer that keeps you visible and credible between meetings, so every other channel works better.
Who it’s for
Financial advisors, planners, wealth managers and insurance advisors, at practices of any size, who want to be visible between meetings without it becoming another job. Bright Draft will be $300 a month, no contract, the same as the Basic plan in our social media service, which our team delivers by hand today.
Social media rarely closes a relationship on its own. What it does is make sure that when a referral looks you up, a lead checks your LinkedIn, or an AI tool is asked who to trust, they find a practice that’s active, credible and clearly good at what it does.
