Who we are
This website is operated by Steady Stream Digital Marketing Inc. (“Steady Stream”, “we”, “us”), a company based in Ontario, Canada. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Questions about this policy can be sent to our privacy contact at hello@steadystream.ca.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a meeting, email us or become a client, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, firm or practice name, and anything you tell us about your goals.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. This collects information such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region). It doesn’t identify you by name.
Information from clients. When we provide services, clients may share access to their website, social media or advertising accounts, contact lists or other business information. We use it only to deliver the services they’ve asked for.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and schedule meetings
- To provide, manage and bill for the services you’ve requested
- To understand how visitors find and use our website, and to improve it
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t add people who contact us to marketing lists without their consent.
Email and consent
We only send commercial emails to people who have given consent or with whom we have an existing business relationship, as permitted under CASL. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@steadystream.ca.
When we send email or run campaigns on behalf of a client, we act on that client’s instructions. The client is responsible for having consent to contact the people on their list.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies set by Google Analytics to measure visits and to understand which pages and channels lead people to book a meeting. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, analytics and scheduling tools, and only as needed for them to provide their service. They’re required to protect it.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.
We may also disclose information when required by law, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case the information would remain protected under this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Enquiries that don’t lead to working together are deleted after a reasonable period.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including secure connections, password-protected accounts and limited access, to protect personal information from loss, theft and unauthorized access.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use, subject to legal and contractual limits. Email hello@steadystream.ca and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and professionals, not for children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
